We love it and go every year last year was VERY muddy even with all the walkways ! We always pick one show to do and a 3 rides each we love sitting in the giant tipi having a hot chocolate and looking at all the craft stalls . It does get incredibly busy of a weekend but we normally go the weekend before Christmas so it might be a little bit quieter early on . As others have said eat before you go and book online for what you want to see as it can sellout certain shows .

The first year they did it they had very few paths and it was incredibly muddy, we gave up with a prat but that has been sorted now. I would not go on a weekend evening.

It's much more family friendly in the first hours of opening than later on when it becomes a bit of a drinking destination.

Like all fairs there's a real mix of rip-offs with some great, authentic stuff like some of the Bavarian attractions that you don't normally see here, we love the Alpen Hotel for example (genuinely bizarre and lasts more than a minute or two). The XXL version of the Maus coaster is also great if you like that sort of thing.

If you're going, get a load of cash out and try not to think about it too much!
