Sunflower Lanyards

I notice these are becoming standard and recognised in a lot of UK airports. I am flying in and out of Manchester tomorrow and I was wondering does anyone know if the child needs to be with me to pick one up or will having her documents with me be enough? It would be great to pick it up in advance though the time she will use it is a couple of weeks away and at a different airport (Edinburgh).

I rang Birmingham and asked if they could send me one but they wouldn't they said they like to know who is wearing one so we need to go to the desk with our information
They said it was so they could monitor who was wearing one in case an incident happened at the airport. Must say it's a bit of a pain ad I could be getting DS used to it.

My local sainsburys has sunflower lanyards at the customer service desk - looks like this symbol is being rolled out by other big companies as well as airports

Wow, I knew nothing about this scheme. How useful! Manchester airport certainly participate, according to their website, and they also have a Sunflower Room, where anyone who needs it can get away from the noise and bustle of a busy airport. What a great idea!
