Mobile Flavouring gin

Productive couple of weeks. Picked loads of greengages up the lane near my house. So started a greengage gin with cinnamon sugar cardamom and orange peel. Nice autumn flavours

It's been in the jar a couple of weeks now and taken on a nice amber colour.
Went out tonight and picked loads of sloes for my Christmas gin. They are huge this year and loads of them.

Just drunk the last of the rhubarb one I did at the start of summer.
Anyone else do flavoured gins?

I'm pretty sure there's damsons over where I walk the dog. They taste like tiny tart plums?

Yes but make great jam chutney and gin
The jam and chutney go well with lamb pork or game like Rowan or crab apple jelly

I’ve made rhubarb, strawberry and black pepper which was delicious and currently got some spiced blackberry on the go. They are so easy to make and so much cheaper than buying the flavoured gins.

Dead easy, gin, sugar, blackberries and cinnamon stick. Will have to see if I can find any sloes, never picked any so not sure what I’m looking for.

Lidl cheap flavoured tea bags work great but I love Lady Grey Earl Grey or orange peko tea bags work great I Top the gin measure with
Soda water tonic makes flavoured gin rank and I hate lemonade or diet lemonade here it’s too sweet for me
Flavoured gin is not a new thing many army wife’s in India and the Far East in the days when it wasn’t the done thing for them to drink flavoured there tea / gin hence my above choice
That’s why Raffels invented gin cocktails they were considered more acceptable
Just a trivia fact for all us gin lovers

Sloes are blueberry sized harder and often a dusky colour as well as bright purple. The tree has smaller dark green leaves and little thorns. They are a quick tug to get a sloe off. They seem to be a bumper crop this year. Good luck hunting.
