Mobile All Inclusive Spending Money

We are going on our first All Inclusive holiday to Portugal at October half term, but we have no idea about spending money, because everything in the resort (except the Spa,) is paid for, and we’re used to Offsite Florida holidays.

How much would you take? I was thinking say €100 cash and then putting some money on my Revolut, but not converting it, so I can then spend it when I get home if we don’t use it.

Also is it normal not to really plan anything for these kinds of holidays, so used to planning, but decided to try something different this year.

I think that is the attraction of this kind of holiday, not having to plan anything. I think your suggestion sounds good. We also take a Halifax Clarity Card away with us. Will you have a car and fuel to pay for when you get there ? Taxis to and from the airport ?
Do you plan on leaving the hotel complex for any meals at all. If not €100 plus the revolt card sounds good to me. Depends on how many of you there are as well.
There is the mini golf Family Golf at Villamoura. Can’t remember cost but it is really good. Not sure if the water park is still open October.
If you are staying at the hotel, not doing paid activities then you will be fine. If you want to go out and do other things then you will need more.

Have a good time.

Thank you for your reply.

No car or fuel, we have a private transfer included in the cost of the holiday. The hotel runs a shuttle to the Zoomarine park, so we might do that one day.

It is just 3 of us, me, DH and DD, and we can put her in the kids club each day if we wanted to as well.

Your plan sounds fine 😀 Which Resort are you staying at? We went many moons ago and were within walking distance of Albufeira.

Just take a bit of cash for things like booking a Taxi, snacks that are not part of all inclusive etc.

It’s great not having to plan ahead for 6 months😀

It’s recently refurbished, Jupiter Albufeira Hotel, rated a 4* plus by Jet2. It’s about 15 min walk to the beach and near the old town.

It feels completely alien not to plan. When we went to Orlando last year, I only had 13 weeks to plan it 😱 We booked it on a whim, weren’t planning to go back until 2022 from 2014 due to having DD in 2015.

Your plan definitely sounds fine then - on this kind of holiday we sometimes have lunch out for a change or an ice cream at the beach - just make the most of a lovely break away in the sun and enjoy 😀

As an aside, Zoomarine is FAB! We love it. It's great in October because they have their Halloween theming. Can't compare it to Florida, but it's lovely nonetheless. We did look up show times I think, so had a rough idea what we wanted to do beforehand. The food was DIRE, and expensive, and took ages in a queue though...

Enjoy x

I had a short AI break in Fueterventura in the summer with dd. I took €100 and had my credit card if I needed it. The food in the hotel was fantastic and there was so much to do in the hotel that we didn’t spend anything. I think I spent €15 in Burger King in the airport on the way home.😂
