Mobile P&O Christmas Cruise 2020

Just wondering if there is anything we should expect? We are on the Baltic cruise 19-29 December next year. I’ve heard Christmas Day is formal ... it isn’t ideal as the OH, whilst female, does not wear dresses and ‘girly’ clothes. So she is worried a little about what will be acceptable for a formal night. I know they do Christmas dinner on the evening, does this mean that lunch in the MDR won’t be on? I can imagine there is a LOT of prep for dinner?!

On formal nights ladies don't need to wear dresses. Trousers/skirts and tops are more than acceptable. I'm sure if you ate at the buffet you could still dress casual? Though I'm not sure if the rules are different on Christmas day - though I can't imagine they are.

I'm not sure about the dining question, sorry.

Trousers and top it is then! Thank you very much. We wouldn’t be keen on a Buffett at lunch with it being Christmas Day... so it looks like it will be dressing up for a sit down meal 🙂

Just to add, not P and O but we’ve done several Cunard jobs and formal nights sees plenty of women in smart tops and trousers and no one bats an eyelid.

Thank you 🙂 appreciate your input... gives me more peace of mind. We have done cruises before but just do the Buffett on formal nights. This is something we didn’t want to do on Christmas Day!

As other posters have said I’ve seen a range on formal nights,
From full ball gowns and top hat and tails to black trousers and smart tops. So long as it’s not jeans, vest and flip flops you’ll be fine. On Britannia last year I wore black trousers, black sandals, a blouse and black cardigan. Xx enjoy.
