The Salt Mines are a good trip there are 2 different ones but the one with all the carvings from salt was the best one. They even have a whole chapel down in the mine carved out of the salt. I can’t remember the name of it but sure if you google it you will find it.

We went in January and can’t recommend enough!
We also got the train from the airport and it was super cheap and easy to navigate. Takes you right into the centre and our hotel was a 5min walk away. We booked a private tour for auschwitz-birkenau through krakowtours.com and it was fantastic! Private return taxi from our hotel, with another group of 4 (8 of us in total). Food wise, if you like Italian there is an amazing restaurant in the old town square called The Spaghetti! And Mr.Pancake for incredible, OTT pancakes (think candy floss, sweets, chocolate). Hope you enjoy your trip x

This has got to be one of the most surprising and informative threads I have read for a long time. I know my daughter raved about Krakow when she went (for all the right reasons) but I'm seriously interested now
Good post OP
