It's a huge genre .
The early Big Brothers when they had a genuine mix of people was compulsive viewing and in no way could be compared to the rubbish like Love Island or Towie today full of no hopers who "wanna be famous". Gemma Collins is a prime example . No talent , no work ethic and no understanding people are laughing at her not with her. It's actually rather cruel TV and a stretch to call it entertainment.

Erm

I know lots of people on both sides of the sex divide who watch reality TV equally I know women, myself included, who do not like them. I know women, who watch match of the day and men who like bake off and others.

It isn’t anything about being against women it’s actually a presumption that those are “ female” programmes as opposed to “manly” programmes with sport and a bit of grit.

I do agree that TV appears to be populated with celebrity based shows I often wonder what 90% of these so called celebrities would do if they couldn’t do the game show and fly on the wall rounds. But it’s not new, Blankity blank was one of the top game shows in its time.

It’s really quite simple. Don’t like it don’t watch it. I watch things my husband doesn’t like and vice versa, neither of us expects the other to sit like a limpet and watch something they don’t like

My favourite reality show is on once a week on a Wednesday lunchtime.

It’s set in a house and there’s two families who don’t like each other, shout a lot and try to get the viewing public to vote the other side out.

I think it’s called PMQs and it’s not that realistic, but does have some entertainment value.

I thought that was scripted and therefore not strictly a reality TV show? Plus I'm not sure what reality they are in, but it's significantly different to the one I'm used to.

No idea if there are any NDAs or not, so not saying too much. We are a startup (3 years old) in the travel booking/hospitality space. Based in London.

To be honest, it would be very boring TV - our office is not exactly that exciting - so I'd be surprised if they commissioned an entire series on it, unless it was as part of a wider thing involving other cmmpanies or something.

It's not like I was actually taking part in it or anything, just in the background here and there probably. I think we get to see the pilot once it's made, but there is no intention to broadcast it.
