Direct or indirect?
Got quotes for flight for next July. Direct with Aer Lingus or in direct with BA. both roughly same price but direct flights doesn’t gets me there til 8pm arrival. Whereas indirect arrives at 3:30pm.
Just worry if I take direct. By the time we arrive it be too late to even get something to eat at the hotel. |

This will probably all come down to what is more important to you. We fly indirect all the time, however thats mainly due to it being much cheaper. And in most cases its the difference between being able to afford to go or not.
However, we dont mind going indirect at all. We find the break 2/3 the way as welcome. If you have a transfer time of a couple of hours its the perfect time to get something to eat, meaning you dont have to try and find somewhere when you land in Orlando. helpful, especially with kids, who are struggling to stay awake by then. Another plus is that you do customs where you land first, so when you land in Orlando there is no long queue at customs. You just collect your baggage and you are on your way. Of course direct though you dont have any hassle, and sometimes stress (if transfer time is tight) of a connection. Im afraid only you can decide this. What is less stressful for you? Arriving late, or having to transfer? |

Are you sure you've got that the right way round? My recent Aer Lingus indirect flight got me to the resort at 8pm where previously flying direct with BA or Thompson I've always arrived mid-afternoon.
Anyway, 8pm is plenty of time to get food and a margarita and settle down and watch the world go by before an early night. Food courts are open until at least 10pm and the quick-grab open even later. I've always found myself too tired to do anything straight on arrival anyway so arriving mid-afternoon was a waste EDIT; Just noticed you're already IN Ireland so the direct flights for you are indirect for me and vice-versa . If you can fly direct from Dublin I would definitely choose that Edited at 10:09 AM. |

Personally its a no brainer if I had that choice - Aer Lingus would win every time. Much better service in my experience, BA always striking (so I wont use them at all) but the biggest thing is going through pre-clearance and arriving in Orlando as a domestic passenger. This can save 1-2 hours when arriving.

definitely direct as Aer Lingus offer the pre-clearance in Dublin which is invaluable & makes life much easier on arrival.I'm always happy to go indirect if it saves money but if no price difference its far better than risking transfer delays, lost baggage etc & having to stress about making the transfer.

Aer Lingus codeshare with BA so could be the same metal anyway.
If cost doesn’t matter I’d fly direct over indirect. You could also eat at the airport if needed. |

I don't mind indirect flights but would always choose direct if available. This year we had indirect flights to Quebec because they don't do direct from Manchester. We ended up getting to Quebec two days late! I know going to Orlando there will be a lot more flights they can put you on if you miss your connection but just be aware that there may be problems if your first flight is late.

Direct, you do immigration in Dublin and only have one plane ride home rather than having to wait for a connection back to NI.
You also have a longer last day in Orlando as the return flight also leaves later than BA. |
