Mobile Accommodation - recommendations required please :)

We haven’t been to DLP for a good few years but I’d like to go back early next year. I’ve had a quick look at what is available but would really appreciate recommendations from any regulars. Don’t want to spend an awful lot but happy to explore all options.

There will be 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant, so we will need a family room. Transport to and from parks would be useful too.

Thanks in advance

If you're looking to stay on site then you really can't go wrong with any of the offerings. All rooms will sleep up to 4 people and can also accommodate a travel cot too.

The Santa Fe and Cheyenne are the two budget hotels but each one is only a 20 minute walk to the park or you can take a free shuttle bus. We normally stay in one of these when we go as the room to us is just a place to sleep and I'd rather save money on the room to enjoy in the parks!

Do you have a preference regarding on or off site?

Our preference is usually Hotel Cheyenne. It is classed as a budget hotel so on the cheaper end of the spectrum when it comes to on-site, the hotel has recently been renovated, its walking distance to the parks (and there is also a shuttle bus too), great cowboy town/Toy Story theme and once you have added the cost of off-site hotel and park tickets (and food if you can snag a free dining deal) it often works out at not much more expensive (or sometimes cheaper) than offsite.

We haven't got a preference regarding onsite or offsite. We'd like to keep the costs down as much as possible but happy to look at all deals available.

Where is the best place to look for onsite deals?

Check the official DLP website (and the other countries versions as they all have different offers), Walt Disney Travel Company and Magic Breaks.

As above, we’ve always found on-site to be cheapest. We’re tied to school holidays, so our best deal was £600 for five days in Santa Fe last year (including hotel and tickets for 4 of us).

I know you can get off-site hotels for less, but they don’t include tickets. I understand tickets cost around £50 per person per day, so £200 per day for us, and there’s no way we could have done five days off-site for less than £600.

We got the deal above by waiting and shopping around - it was an offer on the French DLP site with 40% off and under 12s go free.

We do prefer Cheyenne to Santa Fe, but it was a tight-budget trip, taking a lot of our own food, etc, so we went with the cheapest hotel available and it was fine. A lovely walk along the river to the parks (didn’t use the shuttles at all) and a clean room with comfy beds - it was all we needed.
