Friendliest CBP Agent Ever! Global Entry.

We flew in yesterday afternoon and had originally intended to do our Global Entry interview next Tuesday at the airport.
However a week ago I had an E Mail saying we could do it on entry as MCO is now a participating airport as is Tampa.

We were first off the plane and I spoke to one of the 'greeters' he told me to ignore the machines and took us to a CBP officer in the Immigration hall.
Handed over our paperwork with unique numbers and I was done in 10 mins flat. Sadly they had problems with my Wife's fingerprints so that took 20 mins until she could score a 12 on the machine. Anything less or more you get rejected.

Possibly the friendliest Officer I have encountered in 41 years. Kept joking with us and was so helpful. Also asking my Wife why she was born in 1981 and was with an old Guy
She was actually born in the 60's!

What shocked me? They pulled up every entry photo for the last 10 years of travel and had to endorse each one that it was verified as us.

So all done now and no longer have to line up for Immigration as the machines are totally separate and we will be through in minutes. Money well spent

Result!
Our first trip to florida we had really friendly immigration staff completely put us at ease cos I'd read a fair few horror stories, if only it happened all the time.
Enjoy your holiday 😀

Hi Jenny. Nice to get out of the UK cold!
We are just going to have a chill out time and do what we want when we want. Probably going to mooch across to DHS today but may have to swap the car out as it keeps dropping into sports mode!
I don't do sports mode I do comfort mode!

so it's not some kind of big appointment in a special office somewhere? you can literally arrange for it to be done in the normal immigration hall at a desk? that sounds really good

The CBP Guys were trained last week but as long as you have got the unique number from CBP registration you just make yourself known to the greeters.

You mustn't do the normal machine process to get the piece of paper as normal. They do that at the desk the old fashioned way and admit you and stamp your passport. Then they do the Global Entry process.

It was quiet yesterday and the Lady in the booth behind our Officer was constantly abusing him for being slow! They are human but can't show that when they are doing their normal entry inspections.

If you want to do the procedure any other time you can book an appointment at MCO for a date and time during your visit. All on the website.

Have they sorted this out at MCO yet? I travelled through there twice last year and both times once you have been to the machines (which are to the right of the immigration hall) you then have to stop at the immigration desk to the far right and then wait for an officer to appear and check your paperwork.

brilliant thanks! it was putting me off thinking of having to go back to the airport half way through for an interrogation. Would be great to just get it out the way at the normal time

Steve. Separate GE exit from where all the machines are in the ante room. Then about 8 machines to the far right in the hall as you say. I was told yesterday to use them and then go straight to the US residents desk which is always quiet.

That's interesting thanks for the tip. I've travelled through JFK, LAS, MIA and LAX with GE and just handed the printed piece of paper to the official as you exit immigration, no need to go to a desk.
