Coyote. Did we really see one by the roadside whilst we were leaving Disney?
Leaving Disney the other night we saw an animal. Wasn't a fox. Googled Florida Wildlife and it looked as if it might have been a coyote. Are they found all around Florida?

Oh aye Anna-Marie, they're fairly prevalent. Here on Pine Island there's a huge amount of land, palm tree plantations, foliage etc., keeping them safe. They cause a bit of mayhem; irresponsible islanders who don't keep their cats and dogs in oft complain of their loss. Rarely are rabbits now seen on isle. Coyote packs occasionally run thro our estate at night causing a cacophony of howls from them and residents pets. A trailer park, 1/2 a mile from us, had a huge ferral cat population in 2013, due to coyotes you rarely see any now. Also wild boar, regularly seen atween Matlacha and Pine Island centre, plus adder snakes. There's also harmless iguana and vile monitor lizards, those blasted things are a major problem as they kill the ground burrowing owls young, causing a drop in population.

Definitely widespread in the US now. My mum has had them in her back yard on Cape Cod way up near Boston. There were never any when I was growing up in the 80's.
