Any help appreciated. Best time to book, first day out against 6 months later on a cruise

Hi All,

we are looking at booking the fjords cruise on 16th August and the prices are out today.
We are also on the med cruise in August this year (not bragging just for reference).

Is it better to book now on the day they come out or wait till on the cruise when there is 10% off and $200 OBC but the chance that the cruise may be full!

All views greatly appreciated.

Also, best side of the ship for fjords views, port or starboard.

I now have a holding booking for three days so would really appreciate any help regarding this trip for the cost.

The cheapest time to book has always been around opening day. It is a gamble on if the prices would increase by more than 10%. Have you had any quotes from any US Ta'? They tend to give OBC. Travel on a dream and Dreams unlimited are two that I know of that definitely do. You can look in their websites as to how much OBC you would get, based on cost of the cruise.
Maybe have a look on cruise critic forum to get an idea of what side of the ship is best?

Great. Tried them both. Very quick replies and lovely people but with the dollar, slightly more expensive even with the obc.

I found this too so booked the 26/8 Dover to Dover Fjords cruise direct with DCL.

Just got to wait 18 months now!

You could look into the consequences of booking now and then seeing if rebooking on the cruise with the discounts saves you anything, maybe?
