Do cruises work like hotels...

In terms of room/ cabin allocations - could one company be sold out but another still has availability ( in terms of type e.g inside cabins)

Just a bit shocked that a cruise we were looking at on the Disney website on Friday night now only has concierge available yet on Friday had multiple inside, ocean view etc

Just wondering whether I should contact some American TAs or virgin etc

Maybe you have clicked on the wrong tab?

Do get a quote from a US agent though. We used Dreams Unlimited. They will give you room credit often...and so come in cheaper than Disney. You are still able to select your cabin etc.

Please do not use Virgin to book a Disney cruise, you will end up paying more in 99.9% of circumstances.
Either book it direct on the DCL website or through a US TA .. we use Travel on a Dream (ask for Deb and let her know you're British so she can give you targeted info).

Also something to bare in mind, it may be showing as full now but may open up nearer to the paid in full date (about 4 months before the cruise sale date). With Disney they sell up quickly on opening day for a lot of itineraries but then people cancel nearer the time as you get a full refund on most itineraries.

I use Jess Hayes at Pixie Vacations (jess@pixievacations.com) and she's always been really good.

From what I have been told they don't work like hotels. What you see is what is available to the most extent. There might be some held in the DCL system but these are ones that have yet to move onto the system rather than being held back by companies.
