tipping on disney cruise

Hi anybody who's ever been on a disney cruise,need some help about tipping on the cruise.We are a family of 5,so does that mean we tip per person or as a family as it would work out very dear if per person we go tomorrow so if anybody knows anything it would be greatfully excepted thanks

Did you not book your cruise with your tips already paid? I know we did when we went - saves a lot of hassle! If not ask if you can pay up front - we had great service from our waiters and cleaners.

It's per person, we don't have tips included in our cruise and I have worked it out at $144 for a family of 4. (3 night cruise)

Bear in mind, it's not a bill, it's a guideline, so if you aren't comfortable with the amount you can tip less. On that website, there is an optoin to tick/untick 'Full Tip', I believe this changes the amount you are tipping per child, but I can't work out if it does 50% per child or some other figure.

The tips suggested are a daily amount per person including children, same rate for all. You can then add further amounts to these if you wish.
We cruised on the Disney Magic last April and found that the staff we tipped certainly earned their tips, plus the extra we also put in.

You are tipping for all the meals you have, not just the ones you have at night in the restaurants, as your server and asst. server work at breakfast and lunchtime too.

Cruise staff have very low wages and the tips are the biggest part of thier income. If any service is not up to standard you can change the amount of tips given of course.
