Sporting events in August
Hi,
When we last visited in 2012 we went in October and went to a basket ball game which was great but we are going in August next year so won't be the season. Are there any other sporting events (football, baseball etc.) in August? Thanks |

Tampa Bay Rays are playing throughout August at Tropicana Field, St Petersburg. We booked tickets a couple of weeks ago for August.

That would have been great but unfortunately we won't have a car so probably a tad far (my google search suggests approx. 90 mins drive)
Hoping for something we could maybe get to be taxi |

Florida dolphin tours often do coach tours to sporting events. We have used them to go to see the Jacksonville Jaguars pre-seasons in August.

If you contact the guest relations team you can get a "tourist discount" on certain seats. That's what we have done for the home game whilst we are there. |

No - both home games - Columbus Crew on 19th and Vancouver Whitecaps on 26th.
OP, the stadium is in Downtown Orlando. Can't remember exactly, but took us around 30-40 mins to drive there from the 192 last summer (different stadium then, but not too far from the new one, I don't think). Unfortunately the fixture list doesn't fit in with when we are out this summer, as would have loved to get to a game at the new stadium - it looks very good. |
