Day trip to Daytona Beach/NASCAR

Me and the husband will be doing something completely different in Florida this time around, we're planning on driving from Orlando and going to the NASCAR race in Daytona in July! Spending the day time at Daytona Beach before the evening race. Although NASCAR isn't really my thing so I'm hoping I won't be too bored! 😄 I'm still very excited to do something different and have always wanted to visit either Daytona/Cocoa Beach. Does anyone have any experience of this/anything else to do in the area during the day?

You can take food and drinks into the stadium although the concession stands have a good
Choice one thing there is no shade whatsoever take loads of sun cream and a hat and sunglasses

I had a book and did a lot of people watching only really got interesting the last few laps
DH loved it
We used the holiday inn car park just as you come in they were selling spaces a great choice as it turned out dint have to battle the traffic to get back to the I4 2 mins and we were on our way and take ear plugs if by the track it's loud

We did the July race last year parked in a shop car park for a small charge about half a mile from the track
Did the inside track experience and walked the track
Thought DW would not enjoy it but she did
Enjoy the pomp of the 4th July weekend
Leaving after the race was easy back in Orlando within an hour

Sounds like something I would do.
Thanks 😊

Good to hear, parking somewhere around the area seems like a good option.
