Planning breaks when staying offsite
Hello,
I know a lot of people suggest getting to the parks easly, having pool time in the afternoon and then heading back in the evening for fireworks shows. Does this apply when staying offsite? We are staying at the Rosen Inn International and wondering if it's a waste of time driving to the park, back to the hotel and back to park again in the same day? Also, once you've paid to park can you leave and come back again? Or will we have to pay parking twice? Thanks in advance for your help! |

No you dont have to pay parking again. We are in a villa so dont go back. We either go early and leave late afternoon or go later and stay late.

We split it up ie if we where just going to do the rides we world goto the park in the morning then say shops afternoon then evening in hotel . If we where doing say fireworks afternoon parade we world spend morning around hotel or maybe Disney springs then afternoon. Evening in the parks .

We were in a villa and found it too much hassle to go back then out again. We either did park mornings til 2-3-4pm then villa pool until dark then out for dinner or went to the parks about lunchtime/early afternoon and stayed for fireworks. We also combined waterpark days with evening in parks without going back to villa in between.

We stayed in the parks most of the time. Either had a 10/11am start if staying for fireworks or an 8/9pm finish if there for rope drop. A sit down meal in the air con does just as well as a swim during the day. We would sometimes nip offsite to crossroads to eat then back to the parks.

We visit the parks in August so are up early and in for rope drop generally find it starts to get very hot and busy midday so head back out the parks for lunch which works out cheaper and then to villa to swim and sleep until evening then back to the parks. With disney park you can park in any of them with the same parking pass so could do Animal kingdom with fast passes and then return in evening for Magic kingdom or epcot. It does help if your villa is near to the parks

We stayed offsite last year and didn't do midday breaks. We also did full days of whatever we were doing be that a park day or a rest day. It worked fine for us.

I've always stayed off site and don't tend to have breaks in the middle of the day. Last year we travelled with my young niece and nephew and managed to do full days in the park and just mixed with 'days off' where we took things a little slow.
I think it depends on what you want to do and see on your trip, are you wanting to meet characters, tick off rides or shows. This year when we go we have flexi tickets so planning to mix things up a little, perhaps pop to MK for fireworks after a day of shopping etc. |

Friends of mine said on Intl Drive for their first trip and found it too much hassle to leave the park and return later, as the traffic made it really time consuming. This is especially the case for MK, as it takes another 30 mins to get from the carpark to the park.
The need for an afternoon break is mainly due to the intense heat in the summer, and to get away from the crowds during busy times. If you travel outside of these times (and without children), it's much more do-able to stay in the parks all day. |
