Mini road trip - east and or west coast?
Hi, 2 adults, 2 kids (10 and 14) going to Florida for first time for 16 nights July this year. We have week booked at all star movies. Planning a week in villa near Disney for last 7 nights. This leaves 2 nights free where I'd like to head off site. Will have a car.
I was thinking 2 nights siesta key or AMI but have been reading about the Atlantic coast and like the sound of St Augustine and turtle watch and guided kayak tour around Melbourne beach... So thinking of making the 2 nights into 4 nights and reducing time in villa...Any thoughts or tips? We like history, nature, wildlife, want to see nice sunset ideally sitting at low key restaurant on beach. Budget for accommodation around £150 per night but I can see gulf coast gets pretty booked up. Itinery might look like this: 4th July - arrive. 5th - 11th - solid Disney based at all star movies 11th - Gulf beach maybe AMI or Siesta key. Some dolphin spotting would be good. 12th - same or possibly head north to homosassa springs area 13th St Augustine 14th Atlantic beach - maybe Melbourne for evening turtle watch 15th kayak tour. Head back to Orlando.check into villa. 16th - 19th - more Disney but lower key as villa based 20th - fly home I'd love to hear your thoughts. We're not considering universal or other parks. I appreciate could spend the whole time in Orlando but this would not suit my OH in particular. Many thanks |
