Mobile Definitely off site for us!

I was aware we would be limited staying on site as a party of 6 (2a, 4c) so even looked at 2 rooms but Nov 5th 2018 just shy of £6000 without flights and without park tickets... no way! Villa quoted and flights secured already come in at 4160 and we wouldn't eat 2000 worth of food!

I'm happy to stay off site but good luck to all wanting ddp...hope u find a bargain somewhere! X

We are the same, family of 6, so needing the 2 rooms pushes the price up big time!

I have spent ages costing up various nights stays from 7 nights to 14 nights and its so expensive best for our possible dates came out as CBR with the dining upgrade to ddp. my "budget for accomodation and food was £5000 for 2 weeks, ( which is what I had hoped to be able to do, and disney CBR came to approx £5000 for that but that was only for 11 nights ( doesnt include tickets though!) just 2 rooms and food. ) so we would do 4 nights at cabana bay.

I have spent ages looking at offsite places and found some that I liked , out of the 7 good neighbour WDW ones at lake buena vista, bonnet creek and blue heron , i could get accomodation for about £1500 I think for 2 weeks at best or £2000 .

but then once I added in 14 nights of disney parking, resort fees and food, it pretty much came back to the £5000 to stay at disney!

good luck with your searching too

My feeling is Disney are testing the market to see what the early booking market will take . With the exchange rate and Trump many people who like Florida but aren't diehards will wait or book elsewhere , I think there is a definite possibility that if as seems likely bookings don't pick up there will be some interesting 2018 offers.

Once the first rush dies down Disney will start evaluating the UK market. The UK market is small in terms of park attendance but is significant when it comes to on site stays as we Brits like the all inclusive nature of onsite far more than other demographics in the market.

I agree, it is so tempting to book despite the prices but I do think it is worth waiting to see how Disney respond to initial bookings, hopefully in a positive way! Thanks for this thought as I wondered did anyone think the same as I do!

I totally agree. I keep reading how small the UK market is, but I'd also think it was an important market to have because, like you say, Brits spend more because they stay longer.

We're not diehards, so we'll wait. The prices for us have gone well above what I'm willing to pay and I'm not willing to downgrade to get within budget, it's not all due to the exchange rate. It's made me look around and realise what else we can get for our money and it's not looking likely that Disney will be getting the bulk of it.

I won't be booking until early next year, I'll wait to see what they offer after free dining. I'm not willing to pay the prices as they are at the moment though.

All that will happen is prices will continue to rise each year, if the £/$ rate isn't so great then the rise will appear greater, Disney has never been cheap as such but has been affordable to many of us who were going once a year, most will have to rein things in a bit and go every 2-3 years (possibly longer) and make it a 'special' holiday. Disney know, for everyone who says they aren't going, there is someone else who will. General (non DVC) room inventory has been reduced, e.g. a large chuck of AKL into DVC, ditto WL, ditto Poly. Those rooms that are left will be charged at a premium, Disney has more than enough groups (cheerleaders, sports groups, conventions, etc.) who also fill the rooms. The convention space for example at YC & BC is being expanded significantly, larger conventions will take place.
