Florida No Parks

We have been back just under 3 weeks from a brilliant summer 5 week Disney holiday .

Last weekend we started to think about summer 2020 summer holiday.

I was shocked at the prices for a 2 week all inclusive in various summer destinations (£4000 just under) for somewhere WE wanted stay. (this would also be peak summer holiday season as we both teach)

So last weekend I started hunting for flights, car and villa to come in under £4000.

By last night everything was booked and under budget This is for 3 weeks not 2!

I would now like some ideas of what to do while there as we are not going to do any theme parks next year (although we may get an annual Disney water park pass. I think its about $150 pp? )

Any suggestions would be gratefully revived

We did an almost no park trip a few years back (did a visit to magic kingdom and blizzard beach), we went down to Key West for 3 days, but the rest of the time from Orlando we went to St Augustine (did a day trip but wished we had stayed overnight at least), Bravard Zoo, Blue Springs State Park, De Leon State Park, Clearwater, Shingle Creek and the Pioneer Village and Winter Park

Homassassa Springs is a nice little zoo that is entered by boat. Lots of manatees depending on the water temp.

We do no parks florida holidays.
This year we did 4 days based in daytona then 10 days in a Davenport Villa. We spent our days in the VIlla chilling by the pool with some shopping, lunches/dinners out, crazy golf, one water park (aquatica) and Wonderworks but most days by the pool with a book. It was so blissful we are doing it all again next August but this time with Clearwater visit for 2 nights

This sounds like bliss and exactly what I fancy for next year. I’ve managed to convince the hubby but teenagers are wanting to do universal.

Once you start you will find there is so much to do without venturing near a theme park. As OPs have suggested already, I'd add Winter Garden and Winter Park and the Scenic Boat Tour, Cocoa Beach, Daytona, as already suggested St Augustine is a great day (or overnight), Sanford, Dade City.

And if you do need a Disney fix try Disney Springs!
