Went to look at potential new houses - ended up with another Florida trip booked

Hi everyone

Yeah, so as the title says, we're booked up to go again to our favourite place on earth.

We went in Sept 2019 in a large party of 10 and as much as we loved it, I just felt we all spent too much time pleasing each other & missed out on somethings. We had said that was our last trip for a while as we wanted to save for a deposit for a bigger house & hopefully try for baby 2. So at the weekend we were looking at a new development close by and after spending a few days looking at new builds, what's on the market for older houses & finding out about the equity we have on our current property... by Monday evening we found ourselves in the Virgin Holidays store paying a deposit for Florida in April 2021 and I could not be more pleased, ha!

Just the 3 of us this time (Hubby, DS who will have just turned 5 when we go, and me) so we can go at our own pace and get to do some of the things we didn't have time for last year.

What's it like at the beginning of May? This will be my 4th trip but I've always been end of Aug/Sept time.

xx

Well done, a person after my own heart - get the holidays in!

We love May and go that Month every year. Nice and warm but not as hot as August and will have quietened down after the manic Easter rush.

That's what I said, DS will be starting school after next summer so this will be our last chance to enjoy the freedom of being able to go any time of year and, well why not go, life's for living

Thanks so much for the May info, Sept last year was pretty brutal for the heat. We arrived a few days after the hurricane & I think that took away any possible chance of clouds or rain for the 1st week and some days it was unbearable. Good to hear it will be more comfortable x

The temps can still be high so don't think it will be like our May days.

However the humidity is much lower.

We love the heat and humidity! Preferably 100 degrees.

Quick Google:-

The temperatures shoot high to read between 64.4°F (18°C) and 87.8°F (31°C) and sometimes go even higher. May is an excellent time of the year for enjoying the 78.8°F (26°C) ocean

May is one of our favourite times to go as already said temps can be high but with less humidity it feels better.

Thanks everyone. Told myself last night I was putting it out my mind since it's over a year away but you know what it's like... especially with the draw of the Dibb calling me

That's great to know about the humidity as I have very big hair when it's humid, think Monica in Friends big! x

So much better than moving house! Kids never remember what the house looked like, they remember the things you do together.
