Question travel insurance do I need to cover for autism?

Ds is currently on the wait list for an assessment and because he does not have a formal diagnosis and is under investigation they have will not cover anything related to autism(natwest) Now he has no medical issues related to it its mostly behaviour issues but wondering if I do need to find insurance that will cover him?

Without a diagnosis most travel insurance will refuse cover as they can't assess the risk.i do declare that my 2 ds have autism and have not been charged any extra.

No one will cover for an undiagnosed condition.

thanks for the replies

I guess I just have to hope for the best then and if he does need any medical treatment they don't try and says its linked to the autism and not pay out. It seems a bit daft that you can't get any cover for something that takes sometimes years to get an actual official diagnosis for esp when they cover it for free once you do

I posted about this about a year and a half ago! AXA refused insurance for my son as we were going through the diagnosis process at the time (since had been diagnosed with asd). They would cover if he was diagnosed and covered before we started the process but not the bit inbetween!... It is infuriating as either he has autusm or not... It's not like other undiagnosed conditions where it could be life or death! Thankfully we weren't going to USA so got insurance with eurotunnel as there's is a for to travel policy so didn't need to declare this!
