I know for 2 weeks for 2 adults and 1 child it was a little over £500 to upgrade from the free QSDP to DDP. How many of you are there?

You can get a price by doing a dummy booking on the Disney site and going right through to the dining plans page. It’ll show you there how much it for your party.

It depends who you book through as well, as third party agents can (and sometimes do) charge whatever they like for the upgrade. With Disney direct, it's the price difference between the plans.
Here are the daily prices for 2019 for each plan through WDTC: Value hotel/free breakfast - £12.99 per adult, £5.99 per child, per night Moderate hotel/QSDP - £37.99 per adult, £15.99 per child, per night Deluxe hotel/regular DDP - £54.99 per adult, £18.99 per child, per night So for example, to stay in a value with full DDP will cost £42 per adult per night to upgrade. With three adults (10+ is considered adult for pricing purposes at Disney) it may end up cheaper to move up a resort level than upgrade dining, but make sure you cost it out as it's not always the case. ETA: On my dates, the cheapest value resort is £109, moderate £174 and deluxe £242 per night. If all were on full DDP, the cost would be £235, £225 and £242 respectively for 3 adults. So in those circumstances, a moderate would be the most cost effective option. But it all depends on exactly which resorts in each tier you'd consider - I'd only stay in Pop out of the values for example, which is more expensive than the price given. Edited at 03:25 PM. |
