Or character breakfast at Plaza Gardens is another option.

Alternatively bring cereal bars and porridge pots!

In the 10 years I have been staying at DLP, the grab and go breakfast is the stupidest decision they have ever made.

Agreed - I'm sure it's been done to stop people using the food at Breakfast to make lunches, but it's definitely the worst decision they have made in a long time. Rather than scrap breakfast, why not have some cheaper options for lunchtime so people don't feel like they need to? During our reason visit (before we had time to get some food from the supermarket for lunches) - we shared half a chicken with chips and a drink then the boys had a childrens meal each, that came to over £40 and that's with the Annual Pass discount!

Theme park food is always expensive, that’s a given.

Previously we always ate enough at breakfast thaf we didn’t need lunch. Last time we upgraded the free HB to full board for £15 per person per day. A no brainer on paper as we were getting an extra TS meal for the price of a QS one. However it was too much food and lost park time. Next time I would put the money aside to upgrade to breakfast and skip lunch.

What annoys me is that if you buy the dining plan you get hotel breakfast. It’s only the free one that doesn’t. I think they should at least have a different name for the free HB as it’s confusing.

They say they are doing it to be in line with the American parks where breakfast is not included. But if that is the case then bring in proper DDP with more flexibility.

The real reason is because they were losing so much money with people making up picnics at breakfast for later.

Personally if I don’t get free dining next time I go, I may buy the package - which is not something I thought I would ever say! I have always considered it poor value, but with the breakfast it may be worth it. Alternatively I could look at Golden Forest level in SL, which is usually beyond my budget.

Breakfast wasnt included when the park opened which was inline with the US parks. They added it after a year or two as most European hotels included it as standard. In recent years hotels seem to be going more and more the other way.

We only had a maximum of 20 minute queues when the QS breakfast was at Cafe Hyperion and quite liked the hot option. One day we picked up a couple of days worth of breakfasts as the vouchers aren't date specific just specific to your whole holiday. We used to have to wait 30 minutes or more at hotels when breakfast was included and usually led to us missing magic hours altogether.

We were able to prebook breakfast at Parkside Diner in hotel New York last time we went a couple of weeks ago.
