To be honest I think that it's better to help your son to learn strategies to avoid the tailgating idiots and there are loads of them who bug even the most experienced drivers. Providing that he is keeping to the rules of the road in question then be aware that they are behind you but continue to drive as if they are not being fools. When they do eventually overtake then don't make eye contact with them to encourage any further aggression. I don't really feel that there is any other alternative if your son speeds up so will they, and if he is able to stop you run the risk of them stopping too, so like all drivers on the road including me who it has also happened to it's important for him to just learn to avoid being bothered by it, and to remember that he is blameless and you meet idiots in all situations.

I agree.

The whole thing about the baby on board signs being a warning to others that the driver might be distracted is an old joke by a comedian whose name I now forget. Clearly that's not the actual reason why people put these signs in their car.

I like these alternatives though...

I saw a car the other day with a sign in the back saying,

“If you think this is slow, wait until I go uphill”
