Question re credit card

Hi - I understand that we need to have a credit card in DH's name for when we collect the hire car from Dollar, which we've already paid in full for, but I just wondered how much they hold on the card until you return the car? He has a credit card with around �1k free on it, will this be enough?

Yes, if at all it will be the most around $100

I have never noticed an actual hold on a CC- last year Alamo swiped my CC and I still spent up to the limit without issue (there was a payment due whilst we were away to clear the previous months balance but I has a balance due on the hotel that took it to the limit and it wasn't a problem)

Thanks guys, that is reassuring. He didn't have his own cards for years, and it is only recently that he has one with that much credit on it!
