Lego - Big Ben
Here we go again. This time its the Elizabeth Tower and a section of Parliament. Lego insist on calling the set "Big Ben" - guess it makes it sell better to tourists.
The set is 10253 and is £179.99 So - all the bags of bricks: |

Geoff. Noooo. Keep it sealed in the box for posterity!
Being serious, how long do you reckon to build it? A week or more? Looks nice, a good buy.

So here goes:
4163 pieces in this set. Says Age: 16+ So we start off with3 green squares and a blue oblong - these will form the base: Various "braces" are fitted underneath to form the footprint of the model: Now you turn the whole thing over and start to lay the boundaries: Next is the laying of the grave paving. I found this ti be tedious and boring and I would think younger builders would get quite bored with it. 70 of the little blighters! We start to build the foundations: I find this more interesting as some of the single bricks have to be set at 45 degrees to the straight line: We start to add some detail over the arches: Two hours spent just to get to this stage. So far 397 piecess. Off to bed. |
