Disney fireworks with Autism

Good afternoon

Going for our 3rd trip in August with DD12 who has cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy.

She has always been too young to stay up for the fireworks in magic kingdom but we thought we would give it a go this year. We were thinking of doing the dessert party but it's $80 each and if she is not having a good day then it's a lot of money to lose.

What are you tips for good views etc? Happy to go to a restaurant or hotel if it helps? Do they have viewing areas for wheelchairs?

Thanks

Our son has autism and we did a few of the dessert parties to see the fireworks. We would go to the parks in the evening so wasn't there all day.

California Grill is meant to have good views of the fireworks in MK.

I can't really answer the wheelchair question for you I'm afraid.

I know 100% that Disney has parade viewing for guests in wheelchairs...but I'm not certain about fireworks. Would guess so, though.

My 11 year old son has some sensory issues - but he LOVES "Happily Ever After"...so I asked him where HE thought your daughter might like to watch from. He suggested the train station - you're up and removed from the crowds - and if she doesn't like it...you're near the park exit - no worries about making your way through 10,000 people to get out.

I agree about parade viewing. There are at least 2, 1 on the hub towards Tomorrowland and 1 across from Hall of Presidents. I was told there isn't one for fireworks. We had a good spot along a walkway where no one was in front of my DD's wheelchair until the last minute when they allowed the crowd to fill in all the gaps. A kind family kept their large pushchair right in front of her or she would have felt trapped and been unable to see anything. It was nearly a disaster for an autistic girl stuck in a wheelchair and unable to leave.

The train station suggestion is a perfect one. It just means that you can't see the projections on the castle very well.

I would actually suggest trying the other parks first as MK is so crowded and hard to leave. The fireworks at HS do have a wheelchair section right in front of the stage ( just get there about 20 min early). EPCOT also has at least 1 wheelchair area between the UK and Canada. There are probably others. Both parks will be much easier for you and less overwhelming. There is no crush for the monorail to worry about either.

The dessert parties might work but definitely not needed with a wheelchair at HS or EPCOT.
