If anyone is looking for a display case we came across this one which looks good - two different versions. Would help keep the dust off:

How's your build going?
He doesn't know about it, yet, Beth. It's hidden away in a part of our house that is a mystery to him - my wardrobe

This all stems back a few years. DH's formative years were during the Apollo missions. He once told me that, when he was a kid, all he wanted was an Airfix Saturn V rocket and he never got one. Several years ago, I found one on-line and bought it for him, along with all the paints and brushes. He was so pleased it's still sitting on the shelf after all this time, because he can't bring himself to put it together. He says once it's made, it's made and that's it. So... when I realized there was a Lego one, it killed several birds with one stone. He loves the rocket; it can come apart and be done again; he loves puzzles and models and it's his Christmas present.

He's had a rough year this year, so I'm hoping this as one of his gifts, plus a beer advent calendar I've got for him will be nice treats for him.

Thank you for all photos and info everyone, it looks great. I can't wait to see his face when he opens it!

Thanks, Geoffa! I had visions of having to build it in the back garden!

I buy Lego but keep it in the unopened box. Will my so called investments pay off? Who knows.
However I collected this yesterday, ordered from John Lewis but as there is a Waitrose near me did click and collect.
Now at the back of a wardrobe with the other boxes!

Edit. Oops, just spotted one of my blood pressure tablets on the worktop. Wondered where it went!

Well DH could end up doing just that. The same as the Airfix version I got him.

DH and I have been off work this week for our birthdays so finally built this and the display case.

Rubbish photos as I was trying to avoid the reflections but it’s a lovely set.

Thanks again for the display case recommendation Florida2010, it’s perfect.
