Red wine enthusiast?

I am looking for a recommendation for red wine. I have only ever drunk it once, many years ago. I didn't like it.

However, I was in Porto last week and tried Port. I thoroughly loved it, especially the ruby and tawny. (Not the older ports as much as the young)

Is there a sweeter red wine that you could suggest

Try yellow tail jammy red roo. I'm not a red wine drinker but that is really lovely. Tastes of blackcurrants.

Port is sweeter than others but could try Cabernet sauvignon or merlot. I'd go to a majestic and ask to try something they'll sort you out

Port is much sweeter than other wine. There might not be a normal red wine you’d like. My mum is the same, and I’ve never found a red or white she likes, but she does like sweet rose like blossom hill.
But you might like a sparkling white topped up with a fruit liqueur like chambourd. Yummy with prosecco

Hadn't thought about that, we have a local one, so will pop in...

Will take a look at the others.

This wine is lovely but dangerous as doesn't taste like a strong wine so it's very easy to drink!

Give Byrnes Wine in Clitheroe a call.

Their knowledge is fantastic and no hard sell at all.

If they don’t stock what you want, they’ll point you in the right direction. Can’t speak highly enough of this family run business, outstanding.

If you are handy enough to call in I’d give it a try.

Would definitely second this recommendation. Love it in Byrnes. Could spend hours in that shop. Also the Whalley Wine Shop. They deliver all over the UK.
