Warning MCO using disabled lift

Hi arrived on Sunday and used disabled lift with my son whilst everyone else went up the stairs. I didnt realise but we then had to go through a second security. Everything scanned again, searched and sons pram swabbed. This hasnt happened last 2 times we have done this. They thought i was connecting and when i said we wernt we still had to go through it. We came out in the shopping area thiz must be why.

Hi Amanda, I know MCO is undergoing changes, so my apologies for asking further questions if the layout has changed. Are you referring to the lift just (or used to be) around the corner from the escalator, upward to the monorail floor level?

Yes that one. We have used twice before no issue. Now they have a room you go in with security guards and a scanner etc

Someone who was very drunk fell backwards down that escalator last week resulting in it being stopped and everyone having to carry their cases, prams, etc up the stairs. I’m glad there’s a lift for disabled people, it’s ovniously well hidden away.

I cant understand the need for security again?
very strange, seeing as no one else has to go through security.
Its the last thing people with disabilities need, now if they allowed us to take our cases with us-id understand but seeing as they don't.

Yes you meet them just outside the monorail. They cant come i to the area where the shops are though you have to go through the doors to where the dtairs come out.
