Putting iTunes music onto iPad?
Hope somebody on here can help please! How do I copy music from my iTunes library on the PC over on to the iPad? It will copy over anything I have bought through iTunes (surprise, surprise) by clicking and drag, but none of the CDs I own and have uploaded onto iTunes will copy over. Is there a (simple!) way of doing this?
Thanks in advance |

It usually works just like music bought via iTunes on the PC.
I usually 'rip' (copy) the CD using iTunes and then it appears in the music section of iTunes (on the PC). I then connect my iPad to my PC, choose which albums I want to sync in iTunes on the PC, then select to sync and the music copies across to the iPad. Although in the latest versions of iTunes it seems you can simply drag and drop the music onto your device (assuming you've copied the music from the CD into iTunes in the first place). The following webpages might help: support.apple/en-gb/HT201593 instructables/id/How-...CD-to-an-iPad/

Hi Nimbus, thanks for helping, sorry for the delay in replying have been travelling to St Pete! What you have described/linked to is what I was doing, to no avail. I tried both ways. It would drag the files across and appear to drop them, but didn't actually do it. Unfortunately as now in St Pete don't have the desktop with my main library on it, only the ipod.

Ah, sorry to read that doesn't work. Perhaps iPods do something different. I assume you have installed the latest version of iTunes? And the music you were trying to copy across was actually copied using iTunes and appears in the iTunes library? Also, make sure you copied the music on the CD into an MP3 or AAC format - some formats aren't supported by iDevices.
Apologies but otherwise I don't know what else to suggest.
