Quiche Recipes Please
Hi, I really want to make homemade quiche but I find all the Google recipes a bit confusing. Has anyone got a easy quiche recipe that they would like to share?
Thanks 🙂 |

This is very close to the one i was taught to make at school - ive always loved it (didnt use shortcrust pastry, just made my own normal pastry. i personally use double the below cause im greedy.
4oz short crust pastry FILLING: 4oz streaky bacon 3oz cheese, grated 2 medium eggs 1/2 chopped onion 150ml 1/4 pint milk salt and pepper Method Heat oven to 190c, 375f, Gas mark 5. Line a 18cm (7inch) flan dish or sandwich tin with pastry. Fry bacon and onion Place half the cheese in the pastry case and cover with bacon and onion. Beat the eggs and milk together, season and pour over cheese and bacon. Sprinkle on remaining cheese. Bake for about 40 min until set and golden brown. Edited at 01:51 AM. |

I have a 12 inch flan dish and I find the following works perfectly:
1.5 packs ready rolled shortcrust pastry 5 large eggs 300ml creme fraiche 250ml milk I do a variety of fillings but my favourite is: Pack fresh spinach 200g pack feta cheese 250g grated strong cheddar 1 medium onion Method Line dish with pastry (sometimes I blind bake depending on time but I am not too bothered about a soggy bottom!) Slice and fry onion Dry fry spinach, drain and chop (make sure you really squeeze the spinach otherwise the quiche becomes very watery) Chop feta into cubes Beat eggs, creme fraiche and milk Stir in spinach and 75% of grated cheese Put cooked onion on pastry base Place feta cubes on base Pour egg mixture over Sprinkle remaining cheese on top Bake for around 40 mins at 180 degrees (sometimes takes more or less time for some reason but checking middle let's me know if it's cooked) Let it stand for a while before serving I have served it at lots of parties and always disappears fast so guess it works! |

Thanks very much for the recipes. Both of them sound yummy and easy to make. I am definitely going to try both of them.
