You can't beat the great British brogue. Black, of course.

Socks and sandals may be a no no, but socks and slider are the height of fashion now (not in the parks though, you might lose them on a ride!).

The blokes in my house (5 of them) all wear trainers in the parks. They tend to go with a lighter weight option such as an Adidas Flux, Nike Presto or Free Runs etc.

Flip flops are great for around the pool, but not for extended walking. Because you have to make your feet 'grip' them, it can lead to short term pain and long term damage.

menshealth/fitness/a...ng-flip-flops/

My hubby actually refuses to wear them full stop, but I don't think there's any harm around the pool for a little while

I usually take some walking sandals and a pair of worn in trainers for the park days. This time I've invested in Merrell sandals (hoping they are worth the extra £'s) and a pair of Skechers trainers.

Tip: store footwear in fridge overnight! Read it somewhere... not sure if I would do that... staying onsite this year on DDP,so maybe give it a go!

I use airfresh trainer balls too, excellent or freshening up overnight.

Is the fridge to kill bacteria or just make them nice and cool?

We tend to bring an odor eaters spray for whiffy trainers- although I agree that I find socks and trainers in the parks too hot!
