We're in a verandah room on aft side 6662 I think at the moment but I'm not against selecting another one and paying a bit more if the advice is to do that!

My criteria was not too far from the lifts so we werent walking for half a year to get anywhere and perhaps somewhere with a bit less movement...

but I'm definitely up for hearing alternatives and I think from the site I can still change it...

If you are visiting Castaway Cay I think the starboard cabins have the better view of the island especially if you have a balcony
Cabins right opposite the elevators can be a little noisy at times.

I don't think deck 6 is much different from deck 8 we have been on both on the Dream and happy with either. I think deck 6 has the lifeboats directly below a lot of the cabins but it only stops you from looking straight down.
I am not sure about ports. A lot of ports have several cruise ships in at the same time so you may have a view of another ship.
There are lots of websites where you can view the cabin numbers both from inside and out so will give you a better idea.
Have a great time.

Keith, can you advise on size of your party, and age group? This may help us advise you a little better. I would also consider what is more important for you, inside space vs a balcony etc.

sure thing, 2 adults, no kids... age 40s we're likely to want to try as many restaurants and bars as we can unlikely to do much in the way of pools

wife would definitely like a nice balcony

Google is your friend Keith! Lol! If its there, bag it!

Huge balcony, midship and mid height, so good for movement and possible travel sickness.

End of corridor so nice and quiet, not too far to back lift, which is down to bars, up to free drink station and the posh restaraunts! ( which you should try! )

And the Balcony is HUGE! One of biggest on boat! And on the correct side for the view at castaway cay!
