Help car hire alicante August
Minefield comes to mind I'm having no luck getting decent reliable car hire in alicante. So many hidden charges please does anyone have any idea. It's just for my husband daughter and I for 8/9 days it's actually from 2 on 7th August until 6 on 15th August. Help gratefully appreciated. Thanks

Look at Doyouspain and select the zero excess option. We've booked through them before and are using for our holiday next week.
Also check the reviews for the companies which it brings up. Plus we've also added the additional excess through carhireexcess.com for Europe. Doubt we'll need but covering all options. Edited at 07:41 PM. |

I know what you mean, it's all so confusing We have used ZEST for our car hire to Malta, there is zero excess, nothing to pay in the event of an accident, top up insurance for tyres etc is about £25 and their website is very clear. I emailed them just to confirm there was nothing else to pay and they came back with a reply very quickly. The prices are very good and they keep sending me the odd offer every now and then, so it might we worthwhile signing up for their newsletter.

We booked our Alicante car hire with Ryan Air for 9 days in April for £29!
The car company was Centauro which had good reviews on Tripadvisor and is located at the airport, I bought a car hire excess waiver from moneymaxim which was recommended by MSE. We had to pay for fuel upfront but filled it up on return and got the refund straight away. They also put a hold on my card for the deposit which I knew they would do. I spent hours researching this as it's not like hiring a car in the US! |

Martin Lewis was on TV the other day talking about this. The idea being getting an insurance separately. ( We always do this) Look on his website as he did suggest a comparison webpage but I can't recall the name.

We used Ryan air last year and they were the best price but just be warned we booked a 5 seater car fiesta or equivalent and when we got to the desk they tried to give us a fiat 500 which only a 4 seater and that was no good for us. They said it was the class we had booked. The hire company were not prepared to back down and so we had to get on to Ryanair. They said they would refund us the upgrade fee if we got receipts but eventually the hire company took pity on us and upgraded us for free to a fiesta which is what we booked in the first place!
