FP strategy

Whats the best strategy for the popular rides? Are you best to queue for a ride or 2 then go get a FP for another that will be later in the day or go get an FP first then start queuing? We will be staying at Newport Bay if that helps.

When we were there in May we were also doing the character meets, so I would leave my wife and kids in the queue while I ran to a fastpass machine to get the tickets. This worked out well as by the time we had done the character meet, it was pretty much time to go on the ride with the fast pass. Another good example, we were in the queue to meet Mickey mouse, that is typically a 1 hour wait - whilst we were in the queue for that, I got Peter Pan FP which is next to it- meant when we came out of seing MM, then we could go direct on PP without much of a queue. The popular rides FP tickets can go quick too, so make sure you are able to do the ones you want, Big Thunder Mountain ones seemed very popular!

It all depends on which rides you want to do?

We usually do Extra Magic Time then go get a FP for BTM, go ride Pirates then come back to ride BTM, get another FP for BTM for a bit later and go do some other rides

Thanks both - we are there for a couple of days so will need to work out which have the longest queues and which are harder to get FPs for to target those first.

Watching with interest - do the FP's give you an exact time or a time slot?
And am I right in thinking you can't obtain them during EMH?
What happens if you miss your slot (tough luck?! )
sorry to hijack Robsie

Another FP question
So you get 1 paper fastpass from the ride kiosk then when you use that one you can go and get another?

That what I've been lead to believe. I was told it was the same as the old FP system in WDW. I'm going to have to get my head around it all again. We're off in a few weeks. Its our first time and I'm totally overwhelmed! I have my WDW hols running like clockwork. I feel like I've gone back 10 years xxx

We found that it was BTM and Peter Pan fastpasses that went first in DLP and Ratatouielle in the Studios. We also got some for Star Wars, Tower of Terror, Hyperspace Mountain and Buzz.
You can get a new fastpass once you're in the time frame of the current one. I think they're in 1 hour time slots but can't remember now.

It gives you a 30min time slot. On the FP ticket it will tell you what time you can get another FP. You can get a FP in the main park and the studios, as they are on different systems. You can also get a FP for Indiana Jones while holding another FP as this is on its own system for some reason
