Last year my boys were 6 and 3, we took:

Water bottles (refilled in park)
Spare clothes for them
Plasters
Mini suntan lotion (didn’t really use as applied 8hr stuff in the morning)
Tissues
Wipes
Snacks (bananas & rice cakes)
Phone
Hats
Sunglasses
Ponchos

If we were planning a Ts meal I also took some colouring pencils and some mini puzzle books to keep them occupied while we were waiting for food.

Next year we’re on qsdp so probably won’t carry any snacks and just use credits instead

I carry it everywhere - not just on holiday. Think it got to be second nature after having to use it constantly at work, but when you think of the thousands of people using handrails, door handles etc it makes sense. I carry the tiny Bath and Body ones that can hang on my bag and stock up every year.

We’ve purchased a power bank but am concerned about the heat. Did anyone else take a power bank out and how did you keep it cool?

I'm interested in this too. Concerned that taking a power pack in August weather might cause issues.

Noticed a few ponchos being mentioned. Are these essential?

yes, a poncho or a properly waterproof anorak as the rain is sudden and so powerful. If you don't take one with you'll can get them in the park but it will cost more

We are taking one to the parks as DiL is a pokemon fan, think we will take ziplock bags and get free ice and keep the pack near the ice, especially during parades and the hottest part of the day

Bottom line. Whatever you want. But you will be lugging it around in 100% humidity.

On top of the things I have read (not read them all though) I also normally take cheap flip flops for the kids so they can put them on for the water rides or if the rain is horrendous, as if there trainers or sandals get wet they tend to moan.
I’ve also in the past often kept a bag in the car with their pjs and toothbrush so if it was late I would get them changed and then if they fall asleep they can be carried into bed.
