Voodoo Donuts
New thing for us at Universal City Walk, people queuing up to get the pink box for the donuts, seemingly excellent stuff.

quite disappointing IMHO
sure there are nice varieties, with some weird shapes and flavors we tried a dozen last month, (all different ones) and it was just meh I mean, many are just plain donuts with a fancy glaze on top, but nothing more We had donuts from Dunkin' Donuts a couple of days later, and they were much better than those of voodoo doughnuts. And I could tell the same of the Krispy Kreme we bought from walmart. (even the ones at Springfield USA are superior, in my opinion) Voodoo Doughnuts are yet another overrated thing. They're just standard, regular, nothing to write home about, donuts. Now regarding price, they are quite expensive. they range from $1.50 a pop for the plain ones, $2 for the regular ones, and up to $5 for some large ones That is quite expensive compared to the quality. here is part of our pink box. (note, the donut's don't keep. The grape one for example, botom left of the picture, had it's glazing change colors in under 2 hours at A/C temperature, and the taste began to change, as you can see from the picture, at the time it was taken we had only left the shop, went straight to the CBBR bus stop, rode the bus and back to our room ... look how the donut look after this short time ...) The cereals on the fruit loops one, and the chocolate balls one .. they turn mushy within the hour, and they just feel like chewing plastic The jam filling in the doll was really too sweet ... man I love sweet and sugar, but ... I didn't manage to eat half of it because of how sugary it was ... and there is only jam halfway through the donut will we go again : absolutely not There are better donut's around the area. It's a one time experience. One you're glad you've done, but one you won't regret not doing again Edited at 04:15 PM. |
