We stayed at the Doubletree Suites Times Square, right beside the bog red steps and ticket booths, great location. We had a 1 bedroom suite room, so large king bedroom and then a lounge which had a double sofa bed and a single sofa bed too I think. Worth having a look at.

Thank you. Had a look at this one too. I remember reading your trip report, I think I will re read it ! Sounds good, I like the free breakfast and the journey in to New York seems reasonable.
Did you find it easy enough to nip back to the hotel in the late afternoon and go back out in the evening ? Also are there restaurants/ supermarkets by the hotel. I take it the travel pass was good for getting around and no other tickets needed for transport. Sorry to bombard you with questions ! |

We had the week travel pass. As it was so quick to get on the subway from the hotel it was easy to come and go! I swear it was quicker than when I stayed at the Yotel.
Whilst no restaurants in walking distance, we took the subway to Astoria which had lots of local restaurants.

Thank you to everyone who has given suggestions. I really liked them all so it was difficult to choose. I have now booked a junior suite with 2 Queen beds and a sofa bed at the Broadway Plaza. I know lots of Dibbers have stayed there, it has good reviews and is fairly central. I can't see us being in the hotel too much. Booked with Ebookers through Quidco with a 14% cashback too.

Broadway Plaza - The breakfast was good - usual bagel and cream cheese, plenty of pastries and donuts and fruit which we installation for lunch. Tea and coffee available 24hrs which was useful. We even had a view of the Empire State Building which was so pretty at night. We liked the Little Beet for a great salad.

Thank you. Hope you had a good time ! It was the 24 hour coffee that swayed it, my husband is a bit of a caffeine addict !
I have requested a room on a high floor hoping we get an Empire State view. I believe the breakfast room is very small and most people take breakfast up to their room. |
