IKEA Ponchos

Mrs Morrow insisted we went to IKEA this week to buy some ponchos.
Well firstly I hate the place and secondly there is nothing wrong with our old 1990's ones - the yellow type.

So I get to the checkout after following a load of arrows like I was in a 1950's Western and the Lady says they are £10 each. I said no they are £7 on the ticket.

Ahh she says that's Friends & Families do you have that?

So I said I have no friends but I do have a family at which she looks at me as if I am bonkers. So we work out the procedure and job done.

Now I would have slung them in a case until our next trip. But no my Wife has to try it on. Nice actually.

But I have now spent 30 mins trying to get it back into that stupid 'pocket' on the front of the poncho. How on earth do I do it?

Darn weird stuff.

I've always subscribed to the view that if the choices are

1) Get Wet
2) Wear a Poncho

Then I cannot see any scenario where I would go for option 2

I hate IKEA too, definitely would not be tempted in for a poncho. I have just looked them up, interesting, there is a YouTube on hw to pack which looks easy but I am sure it isn’t!

But you know you want one. Now if you wear a bum bag it would fit in there!

Dear God everything is on YouTube now!

I resorted to Plan B. Scrunch it up in a ball and just ram it in.

If you see a 6ft tall bald Guy in a black poncho covered in creases and looking like a drowned Darth Vader fret not - it's me.

And finally I am never ever ever going to IKEA again. Load of tat!

Pity, I was really looking forward to a video from some other Dibber showing you on your hands and knees in the middle of Main St MK, phone on the ground beside you, diligently following the video

Ha ha. No I will be hiding away somewhere with my Wife holding the phone and me having a complete meltdown!

I like old things so I'm keeping my yellow poncho as it's like me. Old, wrinkled and iconic.

Why on earth does anyone need a new poncho? I still have my Mickey Mouse one I bought on my first trip in 1998. and yes, I do wear it in the UK
