Mobile Non-Disney Trip

We have decided not to do Disney next year, but that’s really only limited to the parks.

Has anyone done this before but still visited the resorts. We would like to go to AKL for some wine and bread service at Sanaa. I would also love to hear about other visits to resorts when not doing the parks.

Apart from MVMCP in 2014 we haven't been to a WDW park since 2010. Nor have we spent a single night in a WDW hotel. Nor have we had more than half a dozen meals on WDW property.

However on every visit (maybe twice) we park up at Disney Springs and catch the free transport to any of the resorts and do a tour.

Loads of options.

We have not been to the parks for a good few years now but still continue to go back to Florida.

We do similar to Mick, park at Disney springs and tour some of the hotels and have a walk around, particularly at certain times of the year - when we go in December we will have a tour of the hotels to look at all the Christmas decorations.

In all honestly we have never been to a Disney restaurant, in a hotel or the park (in fact we have never stayed in a Disney hotel) but I am sure there would be nothing stopping you from eating at one of their restaurants.

We plan to see this again if we're on a plane on 7th Nov

After catching a WDW bus here

And of course a trip to Celebration

Definitely, I love seeing Disney decorations. I love all the atmosphere of Disney but never wanted to stay there.

Fingers crossed for you being able to go on the 7th - Celebration is another great place to go especially with the 'snow'

We have also driven round some of the housing communities to look at all the houses decked out - even some of the gated ones if they have a guard we have asked just to be let in and have a look - they have always said yes.

I couldn’t go to Orlando and not visit any of the parks but would do a 14 day trip around Florida ending at Disney Springs for a meal before going back to the airport.

We haven't been in a Disney park for nearly 10 years, but like Mick and others we have made a trip to nearly all of the resorts over the years.

A couple of examples for 2littleboys.

Catch a bus to Wilderness Lodge then a boat across to MK. Then do a tour of the monorail hotels and a bus back to DS.

Or a bus to one of the Boardwalk area hotels and catch a Friendship boat around Boardwalk, S&D, Y&BC and HS. Then a bus back from one of them.

Or even easier a boat from DS to either SSR, OKW or PO

You should note though that buses to the monorail resorts and the Boardwalk ones don't start until 11am. This is to deter people parking free at DS and getting a bus to avoid paying for parking at the parks (MK walkable from Contemporary and HS from the boat)

Our last 2 trips have been ‘no Disney’. We visited Disney springs, used the transport, watched the fireworks from the Poly beach... Enjoy!

Hi,

I have a couple of questions

Can you drive and park to access the Boardwalk?

Where is Poly beach and can you drive and park there?

I don't mind paying to park.

Thank you!
