Travel insurance for 2022

Who is everyone using for next year?

We went with Staysure for this year and obviously that didn't happen. Staysure, knowing we couldn't go absolutely refused any refund or discount towards next years insurance.

Staysure were recommended on here but I think there are a few people who wouldn't return to them.

Staysure are terrible. Awful customer service and attitude. Will never be using them again. Don’t be drawn in by their cheap prices.
Direct Line have been decent for us in the last few years.

We just got an annual policy with staysure but it’s difficult for us to get an annual policy with DS20 medical conditions on so we went for it. To be fair we had 2 policies last year with boots at over £200 each that we couldn’t use and they didn’t refund either but I didn’t think it was refundable?

Think ours was Insureand Go last year. Didn't get anything back as Pandemic cover wasn't included (did anyone even know it was a 'thing').

Gone with Staysure for next year's holiday and it appears to cover everything we may need but obviously it's an unknown until you claim.

We've gone for world wide annual so if our trip to the Maldives is off we can still hopefully use the same policy somewhere else for a different date. This was cheaper one one trip. Also got 15 months for price of 12.

I didn't think of it as a refund as such, just maybe as they knew we couldn't claim as there was no travel that they may do a better price for renewal

I've insured with Avanti for next year.

My parents have insured with staysure for years. Never had to claim. Staysure let me set up the insurance. My mum and I were authorised to discuss the policy at renewal time. It automatically renewed this year. Mum agreed to it last year. Big mistake.

When the letter arrived my dad had been rushed in to hospital, was in itu for 10 days. 5 weeks later (last week) he was discharged. Funnily enough all of a sudden it could just be my dad to cancel the policy in the 14 day cooling off period and only dad to say the policy wasn't to be automatically renewed.

For that reason I will not use them even if they are the cheapest. Haven't bothered to get a quote.

Thank you for this information. 2022 will be the 1st year I have to organise Travel Insurance for DH as previously been covered by our Bank’s insurance and as he has now turned 71 he is no longer covered.
I am anticipating ‘sky high’ premiums as he has Diabetes, Prostrate problems, High Blood Pressure & has just had a Melanoma removed. Bags of 💰💰

We always used Leisure Guard and found them to be excellent.
