Liverpool early Dinner with kids

We're getting the train to Liverpool over half term with kids (15 and 12) and want food/drink about 5ish before train home about 8pm

Any recommendations? Nothing really expensive but nice atmosphere and food. Not chain.

Was tempted by Smugglers Cove but worried it might be too far to walk back to Lime Street after a long day out.

We love Sapporo Teppanyaki, it’s a really fun restaurant, lovely food too. Same show concept as Teppan Edo in epcot. It’s about a 15minute walk from lime street station.

Thank you
I'd completely forgotten about Sapporo. Teppam Edo is our favorite at Epcot.

Would recommend Sapporo too… albeit we prefer Etsu but it doesn’t come with the ‘show’ and same atmosphere!

Casa Italia on Stanley Street is one of my favourites and extremely popular. Just be prepared to queue! 😊

Smugglers cove is in the Albert dock area. The nearest train station is James st station which is on the Mersey rail Wirral line from lime st station.
When buying your tickets ask for James st station not lime st. It’s the same cost.
If looking for a nice place to visit that’s free. Try the heritage centre which is under St. George’s hall on the left side. just outside lime st station.
It’s a walk thru museum showing the jail cells that held some of the most notorious gangs in Liverpool of the past. Including a court room and fantastic overhead vies of St. George’s hall.
There’s also a nice cafe.

The Casa Italia -,might have to queue to get in but quick service once you are in - there’s also La Parrilla in Bold Street - really good Mexican.

Thanks for all the help.

We're using Lime St station hence the walk back from Albert Dock being quite far after a long day out.

Will take a look at all the other recommendations.
