Using extended points
Has anyone managed to apply extended points to a 2022 booking with a Dec use year?
I called a couple of months ago and was told that they would only be able to use the extended points after the start of December. We have booked for early 2022 and want to use the extended points and right now it’s blocking our banked 2020 points. I want to book October and can’t because I don’t have enough points without the earlier reservation being switched to the extended points. I can’t really wait because I want standard studios and they likely won’t be around in December. Can anyone share any positive stories in a similar situation? |

We have a December use year and reservations in place already for 2022.
I have it on tape 3 times from Member Services that I can pull the Points from my existing reservations and replace them with those coming by the 10th (ish) of December 2021. However we also want SSR for late October 2022 but that wont be an issue to book in December so we are playing the waiting game. Which Resort do you want?

I think I got the same message but didn’t clock that making a booking before May would essentially use up twice the number of points until December.
I want VGF and RIV. It’s already looking sketchy and I was going to book tomorrow but I’m short on points because they’re being held in the earlier booking. I am waiting for just under 200 points to be released and I’m short slightly less than that for October. I really want to get our home resorts because I couldn’t get either for Feb. |

Mmm. Could you book the weekends which are likely to go first then wait to fill in the gaps when you get Points released?

That’s not a bad idea. I have a free week in a mod too which I had forgotten about. I can probably manage to get the weekends and a few days at either end then fill in the gaps if they’re still there in December.
Thanks Mr M |

We were in the same position with points from a October use year we already had accommodation booked as soon as the points were moved ( it was the 3rd week in October) we called member services and the swapped the points for us no issues at all.

We are August UY and they moved the extended points into our existing bookings no problem. I think now they are used to what they are doing it all goes smoothly. I had also passed my cancellation window and they put the points back, banked and not into holding.
