Help with tickets for 18 days please
Hi, we are going next summer for 18 days. Doing Disney and Universal so looking at a 14 day combo ticket. Are the 14 days combined for both parks, so if we do MK on day 1 for example does this start our 14 day countdown for Universal too, so we will be theme park-less for our last few days. OR does the Universal 14 work separately and won't start until we first visit a Universal park even though its a combined ticket? Looking at using Floridatix...

It's a combo for selling purposes only, you'll receive two separate tickets. The Disney tickets will activate on the date you select, Universal tickets won't activate until you first use them.
But worth nothing that the new Disney tickets are now valid over 18 days, with a maximum 14 days entry allowed. So if you used your ticket at MK on day 1, it will still be valid at the end of your trip provided you had at least 4 non-Disney park days in between. So even if you activated both at the start, you wouldn't be left theme park-less at the end of your trip. Edited at 11:02 AM. |

Actually think they should all be done for false advertising! Most people would think like you & in fact it's a frequent post on here, the word "Combo" is to make everyone think that they are somehow getting a deal when in fact it's 2 totally separate companies, that are in direct competition, & all Floridatix etc have done is "cobble together" 2 tickets & called it a Combo!
Disney is 14 visits over 18 days, you used to be able to get 14 over 15 but that's probably stopped & Universal is a straight 14 days including first visit SD

In fairness, often you are getting a deal. Some ticket sellers bundle the two tickets together and sell them at a single price which is cheaper than buying them separately, albeit perhaps only by a couple of pounds cheaper. For example, if you buy the Disney and Universal bundle from OAT you'll save about £20 compared to buying them separately.
I don't see what's wrong with calling them a "combo". It is a combination of two tickets (or sometimes 3). The issue I would have is that they often call it a combo ticket which makes it sound like you only get one ticket. If they made it clear that it was a combo deal of two tickets then that would be better. (Way back when, Universal and Seaworld did get together and provide a single Flex Ticket that covered all their parks. But they've stopped doing that now).
