I think a commonly held opinion (which I share) is that most routers that are supplied by your broadband provider are are not trailblazers in terms of performance - I've still got the sky q hub because- I've never got around to changing it.I

However

Make sure you don't confuse poor broadband performance with poor WiFi performance (maybe that should be the other way around)

You can change the router. Depending on the model some are better than others in certain situations but generally the one you get from your broadband provider should be good enough. You probably won't notice much difference unless you want a new one to do something your current one cannot like have a VPN service active on it.

We changed our wifi set up to a mesh system
Router basically becomes redundant as a modem and the three Deco discs we use forms the WiFi mesh.
Basically throws a WiFi mesh all over your house with great results.

The amount of people that say the wifi is down when they really mean is the internet is down is high. They are 2 completely different things.

You still need the router though as that is the bridge between the outside world and your system, it supplies the internet to the mesh system. They are good if you just want to use wifi but somethings are better with a cable connection.

Ok thanks

We have only one provider as we live halfway up a mountain 🗻. and rely on a sim card ? In the router...

Problem is, very often one of our blur tooth connections drops out..so for example I'm on my phone using house WiFi..husband's using iPad. Maybe the TV is on ... Netflix which is run through internet system... My phone suddenly won't load a page so I have to switch to data... Which is ok we have lots of data..if I turn off blue tooth then turn it on again it works. Same with husband's tablet on off. Any suggestions?

If I'm honest I'm like worzle gummage it's all electrickery to me..
