At these prices you will always get hardcore fans willing to pay anything who will go initially, that will cause hype and it will keep busy for a while. But I’m thinking, will in 2 years time they still have a conveyor of people paying these prices?

First voyage (?) sold out I believe.
Mr T - My son would pay it too and probably think it was worth it 😮. Wasted on me, I’ve never seen a Star Wars film. A similar experience around Mission Space would appeal much more. |

Summed up nicely here:
So at least $4,720 worth of points for one person for two nights in the cheapest room, and that rate is only available 10 days a year and goes up from there. Put another way, they want you to spend at least 3X in points what you could pay in cash… Sucker born every minute.

Unless you earn a ridiculous amount, then its insane pricing and frankly takes the utter ≈≈≈≈≈≈.
Disney are going down a fairly dangerous road, to the point it will be a place to visit only for the rich and famous at this rate. Regular families often have to save up a lot as it is for now. Squeezing every dollar they can. Charging for things that were free, taking away staff benefits..this is not good. I mean, id expect that on the Virgin Galactic thing for real bloody space. Not some crampt prison cell sized room with a tv screen as a window and a bit of theming. |

"With general reservations beginning October 28, early bookings have been made by some of Walt Disney World's most affluent guests, including Golden Oak residents, Club 33 members, and Disney Vacation Club members." Are DVC owners really some of WDW's most affluent guests?

They’ll sell out for a while with Uber fans, but 2 years down the line will they have enough willing to pay? Not sure how many it holds, maybe if numbers are really limited. I can’t see many DVC owners using this amount of points. Points glut will help.

I am a massive Star Wars fan I’m getting a Jedi tattoo for Christmas but I would rather cut off the arm I’m going to get the tattoo and beat to death General Pong Krell than pay to stay there. I do think they thought just how much can we get away with charging and then double it

Something to think about is the American middle class has alot more disposable cash that us in the UK.
But even so these prices will still price alot of people out. Half the experience will be a park day and a counter service meal |

I'm afraid I'm one of the idiots that is hoping to go next year, although I'll be waiting for cash bookings rather than throwing points at them.
I can see it becoming less popular at some point, but I think it will be longer than 2 years. I have friends who really want to go but need a few years to save up for it. Given how quickly it is selling it may also be a couple of years before a lot of people can get a booking at their desired time of year. |
