Anyone else had their April holiday cancelled by TUI?

Still in shock & spent today cancelling the extras 😢….just needed to vent

Booked holiday last year on first day of booking (to replace my 2020 one) was flying from BHX to MLB 2/4 & staying at Windsor Hills…..Long story short (like we all do) it was a very much anticipated & needed trip with the main purpose to take DS (who has ASD & other disabilities) to see the long awaited StarWars Land (lost count of the number of time we’ve watched YouTube blogs of ROTR & he’s obvs devastated)

They didn’t ring…..I got an email telling me they’d changed my flight to Manchester (app the Birmingham flights are cancelled ) too far to go with DS before flight (he only breaks up from SEN college the day before )….they had also kicked us out of Premium on the way there 🤷🏻🤷🏻

When i rang they also said the accommodation had now been pulled🤥…..all other Tui flights full or not suitable due to having to get back (I work in a school so no wiggle room re term dates)
So we are without a holiday 😢😢
Due to DS medical conditions we can’t go when it’s humid or too hot so looks like Easter 2024 before we can get back (youngest DS is doing A levels next year so 2023 is out too)

Thank goodness for ATD’s insurance & booking Premier Inn flex or I’d be out of pocket too! It was very depressing canceling all my park reservations…

Tried other carriers today but due to dates & it only being 6mths away & peak time no Virgin or BA direct flights left

Feel TUI don’t care & certainly it meant nothing that I’d booked before most people either

Hopefully the same hasn’t or isn’t going to happen to any of you too 🤞🏻 & wish you all happy holidays

I shall enjoy reading all your trip reports xx

What a shame. If you let us know your dates, I bet some dibbers would be able to help you source flights. Would you not consider booking everything separate? I’ve always found Tui to lack the flexibility I need when it comes to Orlando holidays and expensive in comparison to booking DIY.

Got to fly out 2/4 (at a push could do the 3/4) Birmingham was the best option for us as only 1hr & 20mins away
Gatwick too far to drive back from but would do Heathrow but needs to be a direct flight due to DS

That’s a real shame. I really hope you manage to get something rebooked.

TUI have been cancelling holidays all year especially from the smaller airports. I would keep an eye on your emails.

And it takes hours to phone them🤬

We got our Manchester to Los Angeles flight in May with Virgin cancelled today. I’ve asked for London to LA instead but even if they agree to that it involves another night in a hotel beforehand, and having to drive home after a long flight coming back. We only live about 40 minutes from Manchester so London is a right pain. It’s been booked since about June. So not just Tui 😟

I had a look last night and you are right - there are no direct flights from Birmingham. And even direct flights from London are extortionate.🥺

Yeh think poss DIY or back to Virgin next time…! Also looks like it will be back to a London airport too

Really sorry to hear that, so disappointing for you all. Would you be able to fly into Miami? There are direct flights Heathrow to Miami for your dates (much cheaper on the Sunday than the Saturday flying out). Try Kayak and see what you can find.
