CDC No Longer Recommends Fully Vaccinated Individuals Wear Face Coverings Indoors

CDC No Longer Recommends Fully Vaccinated Individuals Wear Face Coverings Indoors in Orange County, Florida

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Florida now falls under the “moderate” tier of community transmission of COVID-19, the only state in the nation below the “substantial” and “high” tiers.

When it comes to individual counties, Orange County, Florida — home to Universal Orlando Resort and most of Walt Disney World Resort — is also in the “moderate” tier. Some of Walt Disney World Resort also resides in Osceola County, which currently falls under the “substantial” tier.
“Unvaccinated people in Orange County, Florida should wear a mask in public, indoor settings. Mask requirements might vary from place to place. Make sure you follow local laws, rules, regulations or guidance.”

“Everyone in Osceola County, Florida should wear a mask in public, indoor settings. Mask requirements might vary from place to place. Make sure you follow local laws, rules, regulations or guidance.”

Currently, all guests are required to wear approved face coverings indoors at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests at Universal Orlando Resort are recommended to wear face coverings indoors, but not required.
Thanks to wdwnt for info - Here

Wonder how long it will take Disney to drop masks in shops and on indoor rides etc. Didn’t take them long last time from memory?

Anyone know which parts of WDW are in Osceloa County then? And is some or all of Universal in Osceloa County? Osceola County is still in the 'substantial transmission' zone apparently.

The All Star resorts definitely are, as well as ESPN. Maybe even the southern end of AK. The county line basically runs along Osceola Parkway.

Universal is further north than Disney and already removed their mask mandate when it dropped to recommended rather than required, so not affected at all.

ETA: I expect Disney to comply with its strictest recommendation, as this is what it has done previously. So until Osceola drops, I'd say masks will still be required.

How are Disney expected to tell the difference between those that are vaccinated and those that are not?

It will be an honour system, same as last time they stopped masks indoors for vaccinated. But it basically becomes no masks.

So you don't have to wear them at all at Universal?

No masks required for fully vaccinated guests at Universal but they do request people who are not fully vaccinated to wear one. Note it's only a request and not compulsory.

We’ve all picked up a cold here and we’re convinced it was from
Universal - no one was wearing masks.
